Aishah Boodram is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with more than 25 years of experience in the field of Social Work. Aishah grew up in Toronto, Canada. As a teenager, Aishah enjoyed volunteering at shelters, at senior homes and hospitals with her family. She earned her Social Work Degrees at the University to Toronto and York University in Canada.
She began her social work career working in child welfare as a family social worker. Since then she has worked extensively in hospitals, home health, mental health, child welfare, juvenile court, schools, palliative care, hospice and residential settings; providing case management, counseling, crisis intervention, group counseling, couples counseling and discharge planning for diverse client populations.
She moved to Georgia 10 years ago with her husband and two daughters and continued her passion for social work and helping others as director of a rehabilitation center where she provided supervision to social workers. She frequently provides continuing education to aging industry professionals, graduate level social work students, licensed social workers, counseling professionals, and family audiences on a variety of topics including psychotherapy techniques, general mental health diagnosis education, common mental health medications, aging and life transitions and the disease process.
Aishah works with her clients in an open, direct, and collaborative manner to thoroughly assess the issues at hand and develop treatment goals so that measurable progress can be noticed. The type of counseling provided depends on the individual issues of each client. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients change their thinking and behavior to more effectively interact with their world. Aishah teaches clients how to explore and enjoy the moments life presents; just as they are and build on their own strengths and resources. Aishah’s counseling framework is strength based, and she believes in building on the strengths and character of individuals to be the master of their lives.

Counselor, Roswell, GA
I believe that life is about a journey. The more skills we develop the greater our ability to navigate through life’s challenges. “If we do not change our direction we are likely to end up where we are headed.”
I strongly believe that effective therapy is a two way street. It takes a cooperative effort by both the person receiving therapy and the therapist. And it takes a commitment to make sometimes difficult changes in behavior or thinking patterns. The kind of therapy I practice centers on the principles of personal responsibility, honesty and self-respect.
I graduated from McMaster University in 2005 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Shortly after, I pursued my passion and graduated from Argosy University with a Master of Arts in Community Counseling. I am currently a Licensed Professional counselor with over eight years of counseling experience specializing with individuals, couples and families with substance dependency and recovery. I have extensive experience working with people of all ages, whether working through grief, depression, anxiety, anger, a life transition or an addiction, I am committed to helping you develop the skills you need to create the life you want.

Counselor, Columbia, SC
I believe all individuals have the skills within them to face any challenge they may encounter in their lives. Through counseling, it is my desire to help people discover these skills and learn to apply them more effectively to overcome their obstacles.  I specialize in helping children, adolescents and their families work through the daily struggles of life to improve relationships both with themselves and each other.  I have over five years experience using play therapy as an effective treatment method with children and adolescents.

I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy.  Therefore, in addition to working with children and adolescents, I have extensive knowledge and experience working with adults through individual, family and marital counseling.  I believe counseling can be beneficial to everyone.  There is no problem too big or too small.

Please contact me to schedule an appointment to begin overcoming the challenges in your life.
